講題：Modeling, Computation and Simulation for Airplane Crashes
摘要：In this talk, we will first describe some interesting and important
phenomenona of airplane crashes. A number of examples and videos will be
shown first. We then present the underlying mathematical equations of
solid and fluid mechanics that govern the motions of the solids and
fluids in the system. Geometry and shapes are generated according to
system specifications, with finite element discretizations. The PDEs and
the coupling and boundary conditions are then approximated based upon
several versions of variational formulations. Our work is capable of
capturing certain important patterns of airplane crash damages such as
fracture patterns, explosion damage and structural collapses. The work
should help the crash investigation and safety designs of airplanes.
